Format and Rules

Tournament Rules

  • There shall be 3 divisions. (Tier 1 to be up to 11.9 Index Tier 2 from 12 to 16.9 and Tier 3 17upwards).
  • Maximum playing handicap will be 28
  • Tournament will be played on 95% of the handicap index and then converted to course playing handicap.
  • The tournament will be over 4 rounds where the best 2 scores from the first 3 days and the final day’s scores will count.
  • The scoring will be based on Stableford format.
  • Unity Cup Shirt & Cap to be worn on the final Day for pictures
  • All Closest to Pin Holes will be marked on the Tee Box
  • All Best Approach Shot on the Green in 2 shots will be marked on the Tee Box.
  • Please make sure you are at the tee box 10 minutes before your tee time. Failure to do so will incur a 2 points penalty and you will join your group wherever they are on the course.
  • R & A and All Local Golf Course Rules listed on the Score Card Apply.
  • For a ball hit out of bounds or lost, a provisional will NOT be hit. Instead, the participant and his playing partners will determine the spot the ball entered out of bounds or point of entry for the lost ball and will drop a ball 2 clubs length from point of entry, no closer to the hole, from the spot determined with a 1 shot penalty.
  • The same rule applies to a ball hit into a forest or forest like area or anywhere where the ball is deemed to be lost, if the ball cannot be found after a three-minute search.
  • If the Ball is found in the bushes then you can drop with in 2 clubs length from the spot the ball is or go back in line with the ball and the flag with a 1 shot penalty.
  • Normal Yellow and red Hazards will be One shot penalty.
  • Official Dispute in the first instance speak with Shaneabbas Yusufali or Abbas Lalji and they will deal with the matter and refer to the organizing committee if necessary. (Their decision will be Final)
  • Stableford Rules apply and therefore if you Scratch the hole – PLEASE pick up your ball. The group leaders will dictate when to pick up the ball.
  • We have been given 4 Hours and 15 Minutes to finish the round- PLEASE KEEP UP with the group ahead.
  • Do not wait for your partner in the buggy to finish his shot, once he has selected his club go to your ball and be ready and they will come and join you at the buggy. Play Ready Golf
  • Any Groups that fall more than one hole behind will be asked to move up a hole, and that hole will be counted as a Scratch for all golfers in that group.
  • Proper golf attire required.
  • All players who participate in any way with the tournament assume all risks and liabilities; and hold the tournament, tournament organizers, and any tournament representative harmless from loss or damage to personal property or injury in any shape or form under any and all circumstances.
  • One Player from each group will input the scores on Golf Genius and one player will mark a card.
  • At the end of the round all players in each group to agree the scores on Golf Genius and the scorecard. The card score will count as final in case of any differences.
  • The group scorecard submitted is the final scorecard.
  • Any issues regarding the rule must be reported to Shaneabbas Yusufali or Abbas Lalji. Once the ruling has been given, the players will then submit the group scorecard.
  • Local Golf Course Rules also apply.
  • In the event of a tie the result will be determined by countback for the daily winners and for the overall tournament the COUNTBACK will be on the Final Round Scores.
  • The winner will be determined by the score for the day. If they are the same, then Back 9 scores and if they are tied then Back 6 then Back 3 then Back 2 and then Back 1. If after this, it is still the same then the same will apply on the Front 9 scores of the final day in the same order front 9 then last 6 then last 3 then last 2 and last hole on the front 9.
  • If after this count back it is still the same, then 2 winners will be declared.
  • Each winner will receive One prize only. This is to encourage more prize winners and enhance the spirit of unity.
